What are reflections?
Reflections are stories in which learners self evaluate and consider their learning. The following list identifies the major uses and benefits of reflections:
- help a learner provide an overview of what they have learned
- give evidence of a clear understanding of various topics, issues and challenges
- can illustrate the development of competencies, knowledge and skills at various stages
- allow learners to demonstrate their intellectual development and their understanding, skills and knowledge of subject content
- can make good use of artifacts. For example, in a reflection, a learner may discuss how completing a particular assessment gave specific insights, skills or knowledge referring specifically to an attached artifact or link to other sources.
